<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a printing device having a device-independent color profile to print in the colors to be as similar as possible to a reference sheet. <P>SOLUTION: In a pre-printing stage, a colorimetry of an image on the reference sheet is performed and an image file in a device-independent color space is produced from the measurement result. At the same time, the image file in a device-dependent color space corresponding to an image on the reference sheet is converted to another image file in a device-independent color space by using a device-independent color profile of the printing device by which a printing is performed. A comparison of both device-independent image files are performed and when a difference of both image files exceeds an allowable difference, the image file in a device-dependent color space corresponding to an image on the reference sheet is changed or a printing process is changed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
