<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrict out of color registration by general feedback control despite nonuniform thickness of a belt. <P>SOLUTION: The angle or the angular velocity of a follower roller 11 which rotates following the rotation of a transfer belt 104 is detected by an encoder 116. A frequency component that is equivalent to one revolution of the belt is removed from the detected angle information by a signal processing means. A motor 115 is controlled using the output of the signal processing means. The signal processing means extracts a component equivalent to one revolution of the belt from the angle information detected by the encoder 116, adjusts a phase and a level to subtract the extracted component from the angle information, thus removing the component of the frequency equivalent to one revolution of the belt. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
