<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device capable of attaining the maximum productivity within a prescribed electric power. <P>SOLUTION: By making power supply to a heater 4 in a one-side image forming mode differ from that in a both-side image forming mode, the maximum quantity of the power can be supplied to a fixing device 1 while maintaining the prescribed body power in the midst of the one-side image forming mode where the largest drop of the surface temperature of a fixing roller 2 takes place. Then, the heater 4 provided to the fixing device 1 can demonstrate the maximum heat generation, then, the fixing device 1 capable of attaining the high productivity within the prescribed device body power is obtained. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
