<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device which can compensate variation of a scanning speed and can keep the size of pixels and the density of images constant. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes a scanning mirror used for reciprocation scanning with a plurality of laser beams generated by a laser device for generating a plurality of laser beams modulated according to image data, photo-detectors provided at both ends of the scanning light path, a photosensitive element for forming a latent image by the scanning laser beams, a development means for developing the latent image formed on the photosensitive element, and a transfer means for transferring the developed image to a transferring medium. The image forming apparatus controls the modulation patterns of the image frequency in the going path and the returning path so as to be changed by exposing the scanning surface based on the scanning timing detected by means of the photo-detectors, and by modulating the image frequency according to the speed of the reciprocation scanning on the scanning surface. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
