<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display medium with which a high-contrast display with excellent visibility is obtainable, and a display device and a reversible display body using the display medium. <P>SOLUTION: The display medium consists of a display cell and a display composition contained in the display cell. The display cell consists of a light absorptive substrate having an electrode and a homeotropic liquid crystal alignment layer, with 80° or larger pretilt angle existing on the electrode surface, on a surface of the one side, and a transparent substrate having a transparent electrode and a homeotropic liquid crystal alignment layer, with 80° or larger pretilt angle existing on the electrode surface, on a surface of the one side.
