PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device or method for allowing a portable telephone user to easily connect to a Web site, and for expecting the increase of the number of items of access to the Web site by allowing the user to easily connect to the Web site. SOLUTION: A connection supporting server is stored with a table for detection indicating the correspondence of the featured values of image data to URL corresponding to the featured values. A portable telephone photographs the characters or graphics of the logo mark of a company (S10), and calculates the featured values of the image data (S11), and transmits the data of the featured values to the connection support server (S12). Then, the connection supporting server detects the ULR corresponding to the featured values by the table for detection (S21), and transmits the data of the detected URL to the portable telephone (S23).
