PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem in a conventional NAS (Network Attached Storage) that an excessive setting space or communication control equipment is required since it is realized by adding an information processor to a storage device having no TCP/IP (Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol) communication function or file system function. SOLUTION: This storage device controller comprises a plurality of channel control parts having a circuit board on which a file access processing part for receiving a data input/output request of file unit transmitted from the information processor through a network and an I/O processor for outputting an I/O request corresponding to the data input/output request to a storage device are formed; and a disk control part for executing data input/output to the storage device according to the I/O request transmitted from the I/O processor. The channel control parts receive data transmitted from the information processor, with assignment of a logic volume to each of the channel control parts being designated, and store the assignment.
