PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a two-wire electromagnetic flowmeter that can be used for both an analog transmission system and a field bus system. SOLUTION: An exciting circuit 11 which impresses a magnetic field upon a fluid flowing through a pipeline 22 by using a coil 21 and a signal processing circuit 12 which calculates the flow rate of the fluid from an electromotive force generated in the fluid in the pipeline 22 by the impressed magnetic field are switched and connected by means of switches 14A-14E. In the analog transmission system, the exciting circuit 11 and signal processing circuit 12 are connected in series to signal lines LA and LB by using the switches 14A-14E and, in the field bus system, the circuits 11 and 12 are connected in parallel with the signal lines LA and LB by using the switches 14A-14E.
