PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydraulic turbine generating set having a bearing structure superior in a sliding characteristic in the water without fearing oil pollution in the water. SOLUTION: This hydraulic turbine generating set 1 has a hydraulic turbine 5 having mainly a moving blade 2 and a hydraulic turbine rotary shaft 3 installed on this moving blade 2, a generator 6 for generating electric power by transmitting driving force of the hydraulic turbine rotary shaft 3 and a pair of submerged bearings 7 and 8 having a horizontal groove 7c and a vertical groove 7d as a water supply passage on a sliding surface 7b of bearing pads 7a and 8a superior in a sliding characteristic and supporting respective end parts of the hydraulic turbine rotary shaft 3 from the radial direction in flowing water. Thus, since water can be effectively supplied to a sliding part between the bearing pads 7a and 8a of the submerged bearings 7 and 8 and the hydraulic turbine rotary shaft 3, the excellent sliding action is caused in this sliding part, and this sliding part can also be cooled.
