PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an embroidery sewing machine capable of, displaying a thread seam formable range. SOLUTION: In this embroidery sewing machine, a thread seam formable range calculating means 9 calculates the thread seam formable range according to a residual amount of a bobbin thread detected by a bobbin thread residual amount detecting means 8 and a required amount of the bobbin thread detected by a required bobbin thread amount data giving means 7, and displays the range through a display control means 5 by a display means 6. Thus, concerning a selected pattern, a thread seam formable range can be displayed according to the current residual amount of the bobbin thread. Further, the selected pattern or its pattern block is displayed in different colors on a display device 26 on whether or not the thread seam can be formed by the current residual amount of the bobbin thread, thus a user can recognize at which pattern end the bobbin thread is to be replaced so as to efficiently use the bobbin thread.
