<p>An assembly removing hydrogen sulfide and carbon dioxide from methane biogas is new. The assembly has a helical compressor (10) driving the mixed gases at 8 bar through an absorption column (14) filled with bulk grains, upwards through an oncoming sprayed down-flow of a washing liquid. The assembly further has a condensate drain (14) from which any escaping gas is returned to the column (12). The assembly further has a flash vessel (16) in which washing fluid is decompressed to 2 bar and from which escaping methane recovered, and a washing fluid heater (18). Warmed washing fluid is sprayed into a desorption column (20) and trickles down through a mass of bulk grains. A blower (22) drives air upwards through the trickling washing fluid, removing hydrogen sulfide and carbon dioxide. A pump (24) returns regenerated washing fluid from the desorption column (20) to the absorption column (12).</p> |
