PURPOSE: An optical disk driving device is provided to reduce a heat generation value to be generated in a stepping motor so as to guarantee that a rotational shaft of the stepping motor is not rotatively moved on the girth of the rotational shaft without being influenced by an external vibration. CONSTITUTION: A stepping motor(190) has plural coils(191-194). An acceleration sensor(210) senses an external vibration during a vibration in response to the external vibration. Driver ICs(130,170,200) supply control currents for controlling the stepping motor(190) to the coils(191-194) such that the stepping motor(190) can obtain two other operational states consisting of the first operational state of driving the stepping motor(190) to guarantee that a rotational shaft of the stepping motor(190) is rotatively moved on the girth of the shaft, and the second operational state of driving the motor(190) to guarantee that the shaft is not rotatively moved on the girth thereof. A control signal generation unit(310) decides whether the external vibration has a bigger amplitude than a predetermined threshold level, and generates a control signal for enabling the driver ICs(130,170,200) to supply the control currents associated with the external vibration.
