PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air condition compact as a whole though it has an approximately U or fallen U-shaped heat exchanger and an electric heater. SOLUTION: In this air conditioner of which an air duct 16 formed in a main casing 1 comprises a heat exchanger 5 for heating the air, a fan 2 for sending the air to the heat exchanger 5, and the electric heater 13 mounted between the heat exchanger 5 and the fan 2 for heating the air sent from the fan 2 to the heat exchanger 5, the heat exchanger 5 has the approximately U or fallen U-shape to surround the fan 2, and the electric heater 13 has the curved shape corresponding to a curved part 5b of the approximately U or fallen U-shaped heat exchanger 5, and is mounted between the curved part 5b of the heat exchanger 5 and the fan 2.
