PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To expand a function of tomographic image forming apparatus, especially in an X-ray computed tomograph. SOLUTION: This tomographic image forming apparatus, especially in the X-ray computed tomograph, is provided with two imaging systems rotating around a single common rotation axis 9. Each imaging system comprises a single radiation source 11 or 15 and a single detector 13 or 17. Maximum measurement fields 31 and 35 to be scanned by both imaging systems in the rotation around the rotation axis 9 have different dimensions or can be set to the different dimensions. In especially, lengths L1 and L2 measured in the azimuth angle directions of the both detectors 13 and 17 have different dimensions. The tomographic image forming apparatus can be used for scanning the whole body cross section of a subject or a patient 5 at an ordinary time resolution and used for scanning the details or the heart range at a higher time resolution or at accelerated data acquisition speed than those of an apparatus with only a single imaging system.
