PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To set up an image stabilizing ranges suitable for each operating state of the optical equipment. SOLUTION: Optical equipment with an unstable image correcting function having a correction optical means for stabilizing the image resulting from the shaking of an imaging optical system in a plane perpendicular to an optical axis of the imaging optical system and an image stabilizing means for detecting the unstable state and for performing position control of the correction optical means based on this detected signal, has an external operation means for selecting an optional image stabilizing range from a plurality of image stabilizing ranges (#51 to #55) at a state that the imaging optical system is at prescribed focal distance (#19).
