PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for generating electrolytic water, which can be installed at any place without constraint, in which any kind of raw water can be used if drinkable without imposing restrictions on the water quality and the water temperature and from which the electrolytic water can be obtained immediately as need arises without directly touching an electrode plate in an electrolytic cell, the raw water or the like and the electrolytic water is never overflowed. SOLUTION: This apparatus for generating the electrolytic water by impressing voltage between a cathode 42A and an anode 42B in the electrolytic cell 42 is provided with a raw water storage tank 44A, a raw water supply means consisting of a pump 45A and a stop valve 45B, water discharging routes 48, 49 for discharging the electrolytic water generated in the cell 42, an electrolytic water storage tank 44B arranged to be attached/detached freely for storing the electrolytic water discharged from the routes 48, 49, a detection means for detecting the volume of the water in the tank 44B and a control means for controlling or stopping the raw water supply means when the detection means detects that the fixed amount of water is stored.
