This invention relates to a method and a system for efficiently handling a service request between a user system and a service system being queried, where a standardised general matter data structure is accessible by the user system and potential service systems. A request may be generated on the basis of a user specified request using the standardised general matter data structure and its standardised content. In this way, a query or request formulated by a user in an intuitive form may be converted into an un-ambiguous query in a very simple way using relatively little processing and storage power.
