<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a computation system possible to perform pacing of network packet transmission using a network event. <P>SOLUTION: A transmitting computing system transmits some network packets to a receiving computing system through a specified network connection. The transmitting computing system supervises at least partially non-correlated network event, and extracts a software timer which carries out scheduling of the transmission based on a non-correlated network event such as a feedback event (for example, a confirmation answer message) when packets are transmitted using the TCP. The correlation of the event is lower than transmission of packets on a special connection because even all network connections are used potentially. The pacing of packets transmitted through the specified connection is carried out using the extracted timer. Marking of the transmitted packets may be carried out so that generating frequency of the supervised non-correlated network event is adjusted. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
