PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To deal with extension in the transmitting/receiving function of color image information when color image information of a color space sYCC is transmitted. SOLUTION: When a receiver has a function for receiving JPEG coding information on the color space sYCC, a function for receiving the extended number of bits of single pixel information on the color space sYCC and a receiving function of a nonstandard gamut on the color space sYCC (S31), the extended number of bits of single pixel information and nonstandard gamut on the color space sYCC are specified for full color JPEG coding information on the color space sYCC (S32) and that color information is transmitted by the full color JPEG coding information on the color space sYCC (S33).
