PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing device which protects a motor inside a printer from heating without increasing costs. SOLUTION: The printing device has a driving means and a driving control means for controlling the driving means. The driving control means is equipped with a temperature detecting means for detecting a temperature of the driving control means, a timer for detecting a time interval, and a control means for determining a temperature of the driving means corresponding to the temperature detected by the temperature detecting means before the time interval detected by the timer passes a predetermined period of time, determining a temperature of the driving means corresponding to the time interval detected by the timer after the time interval detected by the timer passes the predetermined period of time, and controlling the driving means on the basis of the determined temperature.
