PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform decoration of a character to be printed on a tape-like printing medium to be impressive to a user. SOLUTION: An arrangement region outer frame 120 is added to an arrangement margin region 110 to form a new background 130. When the background 130 of a non-printing portion is a positive and a character 100 of a printing portion is a negative, the printing is performed such that the background 130 is made to a printing portion in the negative and the character 100 is made to a non-printing portion in the positive.
