PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cutting tool with a sensor preventing a short-circuit between a conductive base material and a conductive layer, and improving adhesion strength between an insulation layer and the conductive layer. SOLUTION: At least one aluminum oxide layer 3 is provided on a surface of the conductive base material 4, and continuing two or more insulation layers 6 provided with a aluminum nitride layer 2 directly on the aluminum oxide layer 3 are provided. A sensor circuit made of the conductive layer 1 is formed on a surface of the insulation layer 6. A primary coat layer 7 made of either one of carbide, nitride, carbonitride, or carboxynitride of Ti is formed, between the conductive base material 4 and the insulation layer 6.
