Disclosed is a rotary medical or dental instrument (1), especially a drill, milling cutter, file, or similar. Said instrument (1) comprises a shaft (5) for disposing the instrument (1) in a driving part and an instrument part (2) that adjoins the shaft (5). A specific number of markings (6) corresponding to the maximum number of uses of the instrument (1) are provided on the shaft (5). Said markings (6) are provided in such a way that they are removable. One of the markings is removed each time after using the instrument such that the remaining number of markings (6) indicate how many more times the instrument (1) can be used. The instrument is worn out once the last marking (6) has been removed, allowing the instrument (1) to be discarded. |
