<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid replacing consumables in the midst of printing processing in an image forming apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming method for the image forming apparatus capable of printing and outputting an image is provided with an input stage (step S201) to input set information for printing and outputting the image, an acquiring stage to acquire information on the image to be printed and outputted, a calculation stage (step S202) to calculate the amount of consumables necessary for printing and outputting the image on the basis of the set information and the information on the image to be printed and outputted, a detection stage (step S203) to detect the remaining amount of consumables used in the case of printing and outputting the image, and output stages (steps S204 and S205) to output a message when a difference between the remaining amount of consumables and the amount of consumables necessary therefor is equal to or below a reference value. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
