<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an input device equipped with a surface for a hand to be placed on, capable of arranging various devices brought together, and effectively utilizing a space. <P>SOLUTION: An input device 1 is provided with a touch pad 3 for inputting information, and a palm rest part 10a equipped with a placing surface 2 for a hand to be placed on when the touch pad 3 is operated with fingers. The touch pad 3 selects an operating knob 4a to be at a first position. The input device 1 is provided with the operating knob 4a and an ECU 21. The operating knob 4a moves between a first position protruded from the placing surface 2 and a second position with less protrusion than the first position driven by a motor 8.
