<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for providing a win/loss result and a system for providing the win/loss result by which the giveaway win/loss result is simply instantly provided to a user obtaining commodities. <P>SOLUTION: The method and the system for providing the giveaway win/loss result comprise: photographing a two-dimensional code provided to the commodities by means of the photographing section of a cellular telephone 23 in accordance with instructions by the user obtaining the commodities (S102); reading win/loss determination information from the picture data in the two-dimensional code (S104); and transmitting the win/loss determination information through a telecommunications network to a win/loss determination server 22 (S106).
