PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a release film good in thermal peel stability and having a characteristic that a release surface is flat. SOLUTION: A release layer, which contains at least one polymer having a repeating unit of an olefin represented by the formula : -(CH<SB>2</SB>-CH<SB>2</SB>)<SB>n</SB>-(CH<SB>2</SB>-CHR)<SB>m</SB>- (wherein R is hydrogen or a 1-6C alkyl group, n is an integer of 1 or above and m is O or an integer of 1 or above), is provided on at least one side of a polyester film so as not to substantially cause local sagging.
