PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure of a crystal oscillator which can be miniaturized. SOLUTION: The crystal oscillator is composed of a crystal oscillation portion 10 constituted by housing a crystal segment, and an oscillation circuit 2 formed by mounting an IC chip 5 in a vessel 3 which is composed of a bottom 3a and side walls 3b laminated mutually-facing two sides on this bottom part 3a, and has electrode terminals 4 for surface mounting in the lower part of the bottom 3a.
