<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ion exchange membrane which has a low electric resistance and a high resistance to organic staining and enables a long-term stable operation in removing a low-molecular-weight salt from a solution containing the salt and a high-molecular-weight organic ion by electrodialysis, for example, in desalting wine or the like. <P>SOLUTION: This ion exchange membrane is characterized in that, to the surface layer of a resin membrane having ion exchange groups (e.g. quaternary ammonium groups), polymer chains having ionic groups with the same electric charge as that of the ion exchange groups are bonded. For example, when the ion exchange groups are cations, polyethylene glycol chains or polypropylene glycol chains having quaternary ammonium groups at their terminals are bonded to the surface layer. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
