<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display highly fine characters on a flat panel display with low contrast, without lowering the contrast. <P>SOLUTION: In this flat panel display system composed of a rectangular subelement of RGB, character images are inputted, with size converted, then gradated by a subpixel unit corresponding to the subelement of the display system, to convert pixel unit coordinates into rectangular RGB element coordinates. Character part is separated into character bodies, edge parts and a background, and display luminance of the character bodies is converted to a luminance value set in advance. The character images are developed in a display memory and displayed. Thus, a display area by a lowest luminance is enlarged to improve the display contrast. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
