<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a boot type seal capable of preventing expansion and fracture of the boot type seal by heat generated during operation of a brake assembly, and preventing intrusion of dust, small scraps and other contaminants. <P>SOLUTION: This boot type seal has a seal and a valve. The seal has a first seal member constituted to be engaged with a first surface for sealing, and a second seal member constituted to be engaged with a second surface for sealing. The valve is connected to the seal, and can be operated in a first condition for preventing the passage of the fluid passing through the valve, and a second condition for permitting the passage of the fluid passing through the valve. The condition of the valve is changed from the first condition to the second condition in response to the fluid pressure over a specific threshold pressure, acting on one side of the seal.
