<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a covering material for fireproof treatment which is thin, light-weight, and easy to wrap around cable-protecting tubes, and will not lose fire resistance, even after it suffers a fire, and to provide a fireproof structure for cable protecting tubes using it. <P>SOLUTION: A ceramic fiber blanket 12 (fire-resistant material) and a felt-like heat insulating material 14 mainly composed of polymetaphenyleneisophthalamide fiber are laminated. The thus obtained laminate is covered with a nonwoven fabric 16, to obtain the covering material 10 for fireproof treatment. The covering material 10 for fireproof treatment is wrapped around cable protecting tubes 18, with the fire-resistant material 12 being positioned outside the heat insulating material 14.
