PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bryophytic plant support for greening that can suitably be used for greening roofs and wall faces of buildings and ground slopes and to provide a method of producing the same. SOLUTION: A sheet of a fiber mixture including a water-soluble substance and an aqueous insoluble fiber is used on at least one side of the plant supporter on the upper or lower part and the gametophytes of the bryophytic plant are inserted between between the lower face and the higher faces thereby inhibiting the gametophytes from dropping off for a long period of time. In another case, the gamatophytes are placed between the fiber sheet and the water-absorbing polymer to feed water to the plants even in the poor raining season to promote the growth of the bryophytic plants. In another case, the water-soluble fiber, the aqueous insoluble fiber and the gametophytes of bryophytic plants are mixed and dispersed in water and the dispersion is cast on a water-permeable base material to obtain the bryophytic plant supporter because the fibers and the gametophytes of bryophytic plants are satisfactorily entangled and the bryophytic plants are inhibited from dropping through.
