<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for processing musical performance data, which prevents a musical sound signal from becoming hard to listen to after transposition. <P>SOLUTION: At S6, a register matching a detected musical instrument timbre is set by referring to a register table by musical-instruments. At S8, whether the pitch of a note event exceeds the matching register set at S6 is detected and the processing is advanced to S9 when the pitch is above or below the matching register to perform pitch conversion (one octave upper, one octave lower) or to S10 when not. Pitch conversion is similarly performed even for a note event whose pitch does not exceed the matching register if a musical rule for making naturally continuous the pitch of the note event which does not exceed the matching register is not adaptive to as a result of pitch conversion of the pitch of the note even which exceeds the matching register. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
