<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely inform a user of the state where the expiration date of a purchased commodity exceeds or the expiration date is close. <P>SOLUTION: When the commodity is purchased, commodity information tabulated by a POS 2 set on a store side is transmitted to the portable information terminal 1, and the commodity information is stored in the storage means 13 of the terminal 1.
