<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately obtain a correlation of an interested pixel with adjacent pixels to obtain plane data of G with high accuracy. <P>SOLUTION: An R or B pixel is selected as the interested pixel and a correlation coefficient K is obtained from pixel data of neighboring pixels around the interested pixel (step 101). The coefficient K is composed of a first correlation value about associated pixels in the horizontal or vertical direction to the interested pixel, and a second correlation value about four neighboring pixels adjacent obliquely to the interested pixel. Whether or not the coefficient K is greater than 0 is decided (step 102). If the coefficient K is greater than 0, the correlation in the vertical direction to the interested pixel is decided to be strong, and pixel data of G of the interested pixel is obtained by an interpolation process using pixel data of the associated pixels in the vertical direction to the interested pixel (step 103). If the coefficient K is less than 0, the correlation in the horizontal direction to the interested pixel is decided to be strong, and a pixel data of G of the interested pixel is obtained by an interpolation process using pixel data of the associated pixels in the horizontal direction to the interested pixel (step 104). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
