DEVICE AND METHOD FOR DECOMPRESSING HEADER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for decompressing a header in which the update of reference information is requested in response to the error state of the header-decompressed packet.

SOLUTION: In a header decompressing device 709, a header decompressing section 703 refers to reference information in a reference information management section 707 to decompress a compressed header of the packet received by a packet reception section 704. An error detection section 702 detects a CRC error in the packet of which the header is decompressed by the header decompressing section 703 and only the correct packet is outputted from a packet output section 701. A consecutive erroneous decompression counter 705 counts the number of consecutive errors detected by the error detection section 702 while a consecutive successful decompression counter 706 counts the number of consecutive successful decompressions. An update request section 708, referring to the counted number, transmits an update request to a transmitter side when needed. The reference information management section 707 manages the reference information for decompressing the header.
