PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that the configuration of a camera controller for controlling the display of a monitoring device becomes complicated when the camera controller is provided with a function for obtaining appropriate image display in changing an imaging mode. SOLUTION: In an imaging system capable of appropriately switching a moving image imaging mode and a still image imaging mode, in changing the mode from the moving image imaging mode to the still image imaging mode or vice versa, by turning vertical synchronizing signals Vsync to be supplied from a camera signal processing block 14 to a display control block 15 to an non-active state only for a fixed time period, the output of defective images during mode transition is surely suppressed.
