PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a facsimile machine capable of setting connection with an IP network in which an increase in communication time due to listening twice of a useless DIS signal is eliminated when the connection with the IP network is set. SOLUTION: The facsimile machine comprises a means for setting connection with an IP network, an enabling means for enabling an echo suppressor, a means for taking a countermeasure upon receiving echo information, and a disabling means for disabling the means for enabling an echo suppressor upon setting connection with the IP network.
