PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for preventing cold draft, which enable the suppression of a speed itself of a cold air current generated by a cold draft phenomenon, without the use of equipment requiring power, such as a heater. SOLUTION: In a window facing the outdoors, resistance members for interfering with air currents which descend vertically near the indoor side of the window are provided at prescribed vertical intervals in the horizontal direction of the window, and the length of the protrusion of the resistance member to the indoor side is set to be a length which enables the speed of vertical decent of cold air near the indoor side of the window to be limited to 0.15 m/s or lower.
