PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a woven fabric for feather body which causes no increase in air permeability even by repeated washing, has excellent touch and is readily produced. SOLUTION: The woven fabric for a feather bag is obtained by making a spun yarn from a shrinkable staple fiber and a nonshrinkable staple fiber in a uniformly mixed state of both the fibers and weaving a woven fabric by using the spun yarns as warps and wefts. For example, when the woven fabric is shrunk by immersion in hot water at a fixed temperature or above for a given time, the shrinkable fiber part in the spun yarns are shrunk and the nonshrinkable fibers are pulled by the shrinkable fibers into a complicatedly meandered state. Consequently, the spun yarns become bulky yarns. The woven fabric constituted of the spun yarns has narrowed weaves or stitches between the yarns. When a woven fabric having air permeability reduced to≤4 cm<SP>3</SP>/cm<SP>2</SP>/sec is used as a feather bag, blow off of feather is prevented. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
