PURPOSE: A method for manufacturing a fixed or variable type optical attenuator applying to a single and a multi fiber and an optical attenuator manufactured by the same are provided to easily obtain a high reliability by using a thin film technology. CONSTITUTION: A fixed or variable type optical attenuator applying to a single and a multi fiber is characterized in that is manufactured by inserting an electro-optic(EO) material, a liquid or a thin film into an ultra fine gap in the space of several tens μm by using an ultra fine dicing technology applied to a single and a multi fiber.
