DEVICE FOR CONTROLLING HEAD STEP DIFFERENCES OF HEAD DRUM FOR TAPE RECORDER

PURPOSE: A device for controlling head step differences of a head drum for a tape recorder is provided to suppress performance deterioration of a head drum caused when minute foreign matters stick to ends of head tips, thereby controlling head step differences without mounting another components on the head drum. CONSTITUTION: A laser generation/irradiation device(400) is used as a heating unit for heating head bases(350) so as to transform a shape of the head bases(350) in a direction to which head tips(340) are elevated. The laser generation/irradiation device(400) irradiates a predetermined laser light(L) on the head bases(350). A cleaning unit is used to remove foreign matters caused in heated parts of the head bases(350) when the head bases(350) are heated by the laser generation/irradiation device(400). A predetermined groove(390) is made in a portion of the head bases(350) where the laser light(L) is irradiated.
