<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lighting device for portable telephones attachable to and detachable from a portable telephone. <P>SOLUTION: The lighting device 40 is attachable to and detachable from the portable telephone 10. The lighting device 40 is equipped with a power supply connection which is used for attaching/detaching the lighting device 40 to/from the portable telephone 10, and enables the use of the power supply of the portable telephone 10 as a power supply for the lighting device 40 when the lighting device 40 is attached to the portable telephone 10; and a light emitting section 42 which performs illumination using power supplied from the power supply connection.
