<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new and safe humectant, prophylactic agent for immune depression or external preparation for skin. <P>SOLUTION: The humectant and prophylactic agent for the immune depression comprise one or more kinds of extracts selected from Pleurotus cystidiosus (=Pleurotus abalonus), Coriolus versicolor (=Polyporous versicolor), Elfvinga applanata (=Fomes applantus), Fuscoporia obliqua (=Inonotus obliquus), Boletus edulis, Tricholoma matsutake (=Armillaria matsutake), Tuber indicum and Phellinus linteus (=Phellinus yucatensis). The humectant and prophylactic agent for the immune depression comprise an extract from Lyophyllum shimeji or an extract from Flammulina velutipes in combination. The external preparation for the skin comprises the extracts. The extracts can be applied as the humectant, prophylactic agent for the immune depression or external preparation for the skin and even prophylaxis/amelioration of skin roughening or dry skin or luster/firmness can be imparted to the skin. Furthermore, the extracts can be utilized even as an antioxidant for the skin. Since skin immunity can be enhanced by effects on maintenance of Langerhans' cells (LC cells) normal, effects on the humectant, prophylactic agent for the immune depression or skin cancer or pigmentation caused by the immune depression can be expected. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
