PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress sound noise generated from a liquid crystal layer of a liquid crystal display device. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device consists of one substrate 1 comprising a row-shaped gate line G1, a column-shaped signal line and a pixel disposed at the intersection part thereof, the other substrate 11 having a counter electrode 12 formed thereon and a liquid crystal 13 held between the both substrates. The pixel consists of a transistor conducted and controlled by the gate line G1, a pixel electrode in which an image signal is written from the signal line via the conducted transistor and an auxiliary capacitance holding the image signal written in the pixel electrode. The gate line G1 is disposed at the lower part of the pixel electrode not between the pixels but in the pixel to electrically shield the gate line G1 from the counter electrode 12. Thereby, the sound noise of the liquid crystal caused by the interaction between the counter electrode and the gate line is suppressed. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
