PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic wave flowmeter which can perform stable control of flow rate. SOLUTION: A pair of ultrasonic wave transmitter/receiver 2a,2b are installed on a circumference part of a tube 1, in which a fluid flows. While ultrasonic waves are propagated bidirectionally between the ultrasonic wave transmitter/receiver 2a,2b, the flow rate value of the fluid is measured, based on the time difference of the propagation times of the respective ultrasonic waves received. When the variation in the flow rate value exceeds a specified flow rate value, a determining section 8 determines that the measured flow rate value is abnormal. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
