PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a cured epoxy resin composition which maintains low permittivity, heat resistance, low water absorbency, and mechanical characteristics inherent in a polyarylate, and hardly suffers phase separation and embrittlement. SOLUTION: The epoxy resin for the epoxy resin composition contains a polyarylate, an active ester compound and a cure accelerator. The method for manufacturing a cured material of the epoxy resin composition involves (1) a step of dissolving an epoxy resin, a polyarylate, an active ester compound and a cure accelerator in an organic solvent and then removing the organic solvent at 20 to 150°C to give a shaped epoxy resin, (2) a step of precuring the shaped epoxy resin at a temperature at which the epoxy resin does not react with the polyarylate, and (3) a step of curing the precured shaped epoxy resin at a temperature below the glass transition temperature of the polyarylate.
