PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of disinfection which is highly effective for disinfecting/sterilizing pathogenic microorganisms including Legionella bacteria in bath water and removing biological slimes (biofilm) in hot water-distributing pipes and the like. SOLUTION: The method of disinfection/sterilization of pathogenic microorganisms such as Legionella bacteria and of removing biological slimes (biofilm) composed of contaminated microorganisms comprises bringing a chlorine dioxide agent containing chlorine dioxide or an activated chlorine dioxide into direct contact or continuous contact by circulation thereof with a bath tub and hot water-distributing pipes.
