PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an oxide from which antimony has been removed, and to provide an oxide from which antimony has been removed. SOLUTION: A solution which contains Ta and/or Nb as well as F and from which Sb has been removed is obtained by mixing a solution containing Ta and/or Nb as well as F and Sb with a potassium electrolyte, precipitating a crystal containing Ta and/or Nb as well as F and K, then conducting the solid-liquid separation, adding an alkali to the resultant crystal to obtain opened crystal slurry, washing the same with water or a dilute alkali solution to obtain a washed cake, and dissolving the washed cake with hydrofluoric acid or a hydrofluoric acid-mixed solution. The Ta and/or Nb oxide from which Sb has been removed is manufactured by obtaining a purified Ta solution and/or a purified Nb solution by the solvent extraction method, mixing the same with a precipitant, conducting the solid-liquid separation to obtain a Ta and/or Nb hydroxide, and roasting the Ta and/or Nb hydroxide at 450-1,200°C.
